DZP’s Food Law Team has been enhanced by Monika Zagrajek, counsel and specialist in food law with special focus on dietary supplements, fortified foods and foods for particular uses.

We are pleased to announce details of the Countdown to the GDPR: Mitigating the Potential Risk semminar, organised by Chambers and Partners in association with Meritas. During the seminar Bartosz Marcinkowski will highlight the topic "GDPR and the impact on countries outside the EU, including data transfer to the third countries (e.g. the USA, China or India)". The seminar will take place on 22 June, at 8:30 am at Institute of Directors in London.

On 20 April the national daily Rzeczpospolita once again honoured the biggest and best law firms. We are proud to announce that our law firm is again in the forefront of the ranking, taking 2nd place by total number of employees and 3rd place by number of advocates and attorneys-at-law.

We are pleased to inform you that on 11 April, Wojciech Hartung, Counsel in the Infrastructure & Energy Practice, obtained his doctorate in law. Wojciech defended his doctoral dissertation entitled "Independence of main local government unit in organisation and provision of municipal services from the perspective of European and national law" with honours.

An expanded, i.e. European, part of the Chambers and Partners ranking has just been published. The Europe Guide is a supplement to the Global Guide results published in March and also distinguishes DZP and its experts again.

We are pleased to inform you that at the beginning of April the Partners in Domański Zakrzewski Palinka were joined by Rafał Hajduk. Rafał will lead the energy sector advisory team in the Infrastructure and Energy Practice headed by Marcin Krakowiak. Together with Rafał DZP is joined by Senior Associate Grzegorz Filipowicz and Associates: Anna Konopka, Natalia Jankowska and Mateusz Koszel. The new team members will join forces with Partner Paweł Grzejszczak, a leading expert in legal advice to the energy sector.

Yesterday evening Polityka Insight announced the results of its second Ranking of Regulatory Law Firms 2017. We are pleased to inform you that our law firm has been distinguished in five out of six categories.

We are pleased to announce that both DZP and our experts have once again been recommended in the Chambers Global: The World's Leading Lawyers for Business ranking that was published yeasterday. As in previous years, the assessment criteria for lawyers were primarily projects completed and a professional approach to clients, whose opinions are the most important factor.

The Data Protection Regulation will apply on 25 May 2018.

This change takes data processing to an entirely different risk level and processing in compliance with personal data protection regulations will become even more essential for enterprises.So there is not much time for businesses to adapt their IT systems, internal procedures and staff training.

We are pleased to inform you that on 6 March, Wojciech Hartung was appointed by the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Development and Finance, Mateusz Morawiecki, as a member of the Public Procurement Board. The Board is the authority that advises the President of the Public Procurement Office.

In the World Bank report "Enabling the Business of Agriculture 2017", our Infrastructure and Energy Practice lawyers were named Local Experts on water law and its impact on the agricultural sector.

It is with deep sadness that we have to inform you of the passing on 11 February of Dr hab. Grzegorz Domański, co-worker, friend, expert, man of many extraordinary virtues and talents and above all a good, compassionate man.

Among the many works that Grzegorz leaves behind him is the Law Firm Domański Zakrzewski Palinka, which he co-founded and which will continue to bear his name with pride.

On 8 February in Warsaw Infrastructure & Construction Diamonds were awarded for the second time. The contest committee awarded our law firm a prize in the Adviser of the Year category. Prizes were awarded for special achievements in the infrastructure and construction sector.

On 3 February 2017, the Public Procurement Law Association was founded. One of the founding members of the PPL Association is Katarzyna Kuźma, Partner in DZP’s Infrastructure & Energy Practice and head of the public procurement team. Ms Kuźma became Vice President of the Association.

David Shasha, an English solicitor with extensive experience in commercial law, M&A and financing, has joined our team. David will be working in London, where he will co-ordinate DZP's relationships with law firms, financial institutions and companies located in the United Kingdom. He will also support DZP's lawyers advising international and Polish clients.

UN Global Compact is a large global UN initiative for socially responsible business and support of balanced development. Since its inauguration in 2000 by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, the Initiative has already attracted over 12,000 members from 145 countries. We are pleased to announce that DZP joined the organisation in 2016.

Ten years ago, to support Spanish-speaking clients developing their businesses in various sectors in Poland and also domestic entrepreneurs investing in Spain and Latin American countries, we set up DZP's Spanish Desk. Although the past ten years have been a period of intensive work for us, we have gained valuable experience and met some extraordinary people. We have also contributed to our clients' successes, both small and big.

DZP’s experts are advising Warbud SA during the conversion of the 17th century Pac Palace in Vilnius into the new Polish Embassy in Lithuania. The Pac Palace has been owned by the Polish state since 2007 and in January this year a tender was held for the extensive modernisation and adaptation of this historic building.  The winner was a Polish-Lithuanian consortium of Warbud SA (leader) and UAB Lakaja. Contract value – over EUR 11 million.

We are pleased to announce that at the beginning of October, Krzysztof Krak, specialist in compliance solutions and fraud and corruption prevention systems, joined DZP as Counsel. Krzysztof is an experienced expert in implementing analytical solutions in the areas of IT, organisation and training.
