Together with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), we are pleased to invite you to a business seminar on "Public procurement in Poland - Opportunities and threats for Chinese contractors", to be held on 12 September at 14:00-16:00 at CCPIT's offices at 18 Królewska St. (VIII floor). The meeting will be run by experts in DZP's Public Procurement Team: Katarzyna Kuźma, Partner and Dr Wojciech Hartung, Counsel.

The 7th edition of the prestigious "EU Public Procurement 2017" conference will take place in Brussels between 24 and 25 October. On the first day of the meeting, Wojciech Hartung from the Infrastructure and Energy Practice will give a presentation entitled "In-House Procurement – Efficient or Anti-Competitive?".

We are extremely pleased to inform that on 27 June Bartosz Marcinkowski, Partner in Corporate and M&A Practice, obtained his doctorate in law. Bartosz defended his doctoral dissertation entitled "Legal administrative issues of appropriateness of the level of protection of personal data by the example of the US federal law".

There is a growing need on the market for organisations to implement external systems for reporting irregularities (whistleblowing systems). Financial sector companies are required to have these systems. Announcements made by the Ministry of Justice and the Competition and Consumer Protection Office indicate that there will soon be a regulation that can impose this requirement on a wider circle of entities.

We are pleased to announce that we have created a Criminal Law Team in DZP's Dispute Resolution Practice. The team is headed by Dr Hanna Gajewska-Kraczkowska, who together with Rafał Karbowniczek, who joined us in May, and Agnieszka Żebrowska, will provide legal advice on proceedings involving economic (white-collar) crime.

DZP’s Food Law Team has been enhanced by Monika Zagrajek, counsel and specialist in food law with special focus on dietary supplements, fortified foods and foods for particular uses.

We are pleased to announce details of the Countdown to the GDPR: Mitigating the Potential Risk semminar, organised by Chambers and Partners in association with Meritas. During the seminar Bartosz Marcinkowski will highlight the topic "GDPR and the impact on countries outside the EU, including data transfer to the third countries (e.g. the USA, China or India)". The seminar will take place on 22 June, at 8:30 am at Institute of Directors in London.

We are pleased to inform you that on 11 April, Wojciech Hartung, Counsel in the Infrastructure & Energy Practice, obtained his doctorate in law. Wojciech defended his doctoral dissertation entitled "Independence of main local government unit in organisation and provision of municipal services from the perspective of European and national law" with honours.

We are pleased to inform you that at the beginning of April the Partners in Domański Zakrzewski Palinka were joined by Rafał Hajduk. Rafał will lead the energy sector advisory team in the Infrastructure and Energy Practice headed by Marcin Krakowiak. Yesterday evening Polityka Insight announced the results of its second Ranking of Regulatory Law Firms 2017. We are pleased to inform you that our law firm has been distinguished in five out of six categories.

We are pleased to announce that both DZP and our experts have once again been recommended in the Chambers Global: The World's Leading Lawyers for Business ranking that was published yeasterday. As in previous years, the assessment criteria for lawyers were primarily projects completed and a professional approach to clients, whose opinions are the most important factor.

The Board is the authority that advises the President of the Public Procurement Office.
